John Whitney, the Immigrant Ancestor was the son of Thomas Whitney … John was born in England in 1589 … He received a good education in the Westminster School, now St. Peter’s College … He was apprenticed at the age of fourteen to William Pring, of the Old Bailey at London …He was a Freeman of the Merchant Tailor’s Company, then the most famous and prosperous of all the great trade guilds, numbering in its membership distinguished men of all professions, many of nobility as was the Prince of Wales … His apprenticeship expired, March 13, 1614  when he became a full-fledged member … He lived at Isleworth-on-Thames, eight miles from Westminster … After a time he returned to London and lived in Bow Lane, near Bow Church where his son, Thomas Whitney was baptized in 1627 … Early in 1635, he and his family sailed on the ship “Elizabeth and Ann” and in June they settled in Watertown, Massachusetts and was admitted Freeman in 1636.   2. Is there any information of the Perham Family in Hinsdale ,NH? I am interested in a Beaman Perham married to a Louisa Wandell ,sometimes spelt Wendell. Beaman's 1st wife was Lucy, both are buried in North Hinsdale,NH.
